Gloss measurement
Gloss is a visual impression that depends on the surface texture.
The more direct light is reflected, the greater the impression of gloss.
A gloss meter measures the mirror reflection. The light intensity is registered over a small range of the reflection angle.
The angle at which the light is incident is equal to the angle of reflection.

In order to obtain a clear differentiation over the entire measuring range from high gloss to matt, three different measuring ranges were defined.
