COATMASTER 510 XL

The COATMASTER 510 XL film applicator and drying tester is a combined film applicator and tester with membrane keypad that fulfils two basic functions by using the appropriate accessories:

• Use as a high-precision film applicator.
• For determining the degree of dryness in accordance with DIN 53 150 and for comparative drying tests.

The microcontroller-controlled, finely graduated stepper motor drive technology ensures exceptionally smooth operation and excellent repeatability of all set sequences.

• Variable working length up to 800 mm.
• Individually programmable start position.
  Freely adjustable drawing speeds in the range of 0.1 - 19.9 /20 - 100 mm/s.
• Automatic fast rewind at the touch of a button.
• Film applicator works symmetrically in both directions.
• Freely adjustable drying test times in the range of 0.1 - 19.9 / 20 - 108 min/cm.

An ejector attachment (vacuum generator operated with compressed air) for connection to all vacuum suction plates offered for substrate fixation for model 510 XL is already integrated in the basic device.

Purpose and application: An electromotive film applicator is always used when

• an absolutely uniform film thickness over the entire surface,
• a reliable statement about the ratio of wet to dry film thickness,
• the production of a large number of exactly identical samples is required.

The automatic drawing process eliminates irregularities and inaccuracies that cannot be avoided with manual film drawing.

If particularly long draw-ups are required, the XL version with double-length application path (80 cm) has proven its worth. The particularly precise and repeatable specification of the COATMASTER 510 XL frequently confirms its cross-industry potential for use for demanding or sensitive application requirements, e.g. application of slurries in the production of anode foils in battery research, production of transdermal patches in pharmaceutical R&D, application of thin semiconductor layers in photovoltaic R&D, etc.
