Weathering Tester
Corrosion creeps under coatings and attacks the products. To reduce these costly failure effects ERICHSEN offers a wide range of testing instruments. The aggressive influences of moisture, acids, alkalis and gases have a particularly corrosive effect on metals. Corrosion in plastics occurs, among other things, through the dissolution of plasticisers. UV light, heat and the absorption of foreign substances accelerate this development. Plastics do not rust, but the corrosion becomes noticeable by cracking, softening, embrittlement and colour change.
Weathering testing equipment by Erichsen can be used to test the lightfastness and behaviour as well as ageing of material samples under the influence of natural weathering.
The devices of the SOLARBOX product series are modern exposure and weathering devices with which the light fastness, colour fastness, gloss and chalking resistance and ageing by exposure and water wetting can be tested under realistic conditions similar to natural outdoor weathering. The tests are carried out according to the norms and standards ISO 11 341, ASTM D 5071 and UNI 9397.
The testers of the BANDOL WHEEL® product range are reliable rapid weathering instruments in compact design for accelerated testing of the behaviour of specimens under the stresses of natural weathering. The tests are performed in accordance with the norms and standards PrEN 16472, NF T 51-195-5 and ISO 4892-1.
