The optional Heavy Duty (HD) equipment is recommended for creating corrosion scribes with very thick or high-strength coatings, e.g. heavy corrosion protection.
This is a robust milling spindle with higher stiffness and a more powerful drive for difficult-to-cut coatings.
This option can be retrofitted to existing systems (the sample hold-down device for Mod. 638 Smart cannot be used together with the HD option).
With the HD option, the lifetime of the milling cutters can be increased, thereby improving the output of samples with special requirements.
